My newly formed website, http://www.profgreenhalgh.com, is a summary of everything students need to know about the course at a moment’s notice. There is an Events Page which indicates all upcoming events such as homework assignments, tests, changes in schedule, and what topics we will be covering on a particular day. There is a Course Outline Page which includes the Math Dept’s version and my own culled from that. A Practice Test Page with all my practice exams incl midterm and final practice tests. There is also a direct link to Math XL where half of my homework assignments can be found. And finally there is a contact page where students can e mail me directly. Students like structure and organization functioning well feeling secure in this environment.

I think it is important to communicate with students via e mail on a regular basis. I encourage students to e mail me with any question regarding the class. I also like to use e mails to inform students of how they are doing. I do this regularly telling them about their grades, attendance, and general progress. Keeping the line of communication over the internet open at all times helps me to better control student progress in my class. I get perhaps a dozen or more e mails a week from students with questions.
